Resurrection week begins with a celebration of the god of death, Anurus. People visit the graves of the dearly departed, decorating cemeteries with flowers, heirlooms, and many other gifts that turn these often gloomy places into a beautiful sight. While it may be hard for many, it is encouraged to sit down and share your experiences through the year with the deceased so they do not feel left out in this celebration. Perhaps they could return as an angel someday!

At night, pyromancer priests invoke a holy fire from Anurus to create a massive bonfire where everybody gathers to burn away symbols of the things that hurt them through the year. Offerings to Anurus, particularly grimlaces, are also burnt away in these bonfires, wishing for a gentle release should it come the next year. May this holy fire clear the bones that carry your weight, and cauterize the wounds you couldn’t close yourself.
